Ingredients
- 2 packages of NETTARE tamarind pulp
- 1/3 cup dry red wine
- 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar (or red wine)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (or demerara)
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- Pinch of salt and black pepper to taste
- Chopped green bell pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 3 crushed garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
Preparation
- Sauté the onion and ginger in olive oil until golden brown. Then, add all the remaining ingredients and cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly!
- Once thickened, serve to taste and enjoy!
- It has a sweet and sour flavor and can be served with meats, salads, canapés, and as an addition to barbecue. It’s also a great option with pork, and fish such as salmon and tuna!!
